Sacred Heart School Waikiwi

Sacred Heart School was founded in 1962. We work to ensure that our children have every opportunity to become the best they possibly can, in an environment which underpinned by gospel values. We achieve this with the overarching charism of the Mercy Sisters who founded our school.

The Board of Trustees, together with the staff and parent community work together to provide our children with the best possible primary education - academically, socially, spiritually, culturally and physically.

Our aim is to provide and support each child in developing the life skills needed, and to build confidence in their own abilities, in order to make a difference in our world.

Community Atmosphere

We are a school that values our community. Participation by and welcoming of all the members of our community are central to our charism. This Community Atmosphere is evident in school events such as our Mission Fairs, Pet Day and House Competitions.

Sports

We have large fields and playgrounds that allow us to engage in a variety of sports. The students at Sacred Heart excel in Cross Country and athletic events. Throughout the year the students get to experience a variety of sports using the expertise of Sports Coaches and Development Officers.

Special Character

The educational programme of Sacred Heart School is based upon the Catholic philosophy of education, which aims at the development of the whole person – intellectual, social, moral, spiritual, aesethic, emotional and physical growth.
