Dear Parents

With the end of the term upon us, I wish to thank all the teachers and support staff for their work this term. Looking back it has been very busy with lots of different events that our children have taken part in. I wish to thank all those parents who have been able to assist us in making these events happen. Your support is much appreciated.

PTA Mothers Day Gift Exchange – Due to the huge success of last year’s Mothers’ Day Gift exchange the PTA have decided it will run again this year.
Mothers’ Day this year is in the second week of Term 2, so we ask that every child bring along a gift each, valued at no more than $5. There will be a container outside the office from Monday 1st May for your child to place their gift in.

The 2017/2018 Entertainment books will be sent out to each family early next term.
Parents/caregivers have the option of purchasing them for $60 each/or returning them to school. We have 20 books available at the office for extra purchases. Alternatively follow this link to purchase a digital copy online. Payments must be made with a credit card only: www.entbook.co.nz/26009b1.

Room 5 Class Happenings
For Lent, Room 5 talked about the possibility of doing something positive to strengthen our spiritual life and to make the world a better place. The children came up with the idea of making donations of food to people who need it. We made a list of possible places we could take our food donations to and decided that because some of the families in our classroom have used the facilities we would email the Invercargill Ronald McDonald house to see if they needed any items in particular.  Yesterday Mrs Tagomoa-Kaa went and took the items to the Ronald McDonald house and they were very grateful!

Holy Week Photos
During this week, we met in house groups to learn about Holy Week. We learnt alot about Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
Once again it was wonderful to see the older children working with the younger children.
