New Plans for School

John Parsons – IT Expert – Cyber Safety

We are fortunate to have John Parsons here to work with our classes on Wednesday 10 August. He will work with the classes, then run a parent meeting. I would encourage all parents to attend this, especially with an increasing number of schools having BYOD schemes and children from a younger age being exposed to social media. FAITH  FACT – The Kingdom of God

Crossing the threshold of faith leads us to forgive and to be able to put on a smile; it is drawing near to everyone who lives a marginalized existence and calling him by name, it is caring for the frailties of the weakest and supporting their tottering steps, certain that whatever we do for the least of our brethren we do for Jesus himself (Mt 25:40).

There will be a mufti day for children on Friday 8 July, the last day of the term. Children are asked to wear mufti clothing and bring a gold coin to donate to Caritas in supporting Nila Primary School in the Solomon Islands.

Room 9 Class Happenings

Wow, what a busy term we have had.

This term the year 6 children are working with a Room 1 buddy, helping with reading.

We have to remember to:

Pause:  Give the children wait time of 5 seconds

Prompt: We have to remind the children read on, re read and get their mouth ready when they come to a tricky word

Praise: Remember to say “well done”, “good job”.  This needs to be throughout the book and the end of the book.

Also we have just finished some Art Work; concentration on concept lines.

Foreshortening is a technique used in perspective to create the illusion of an object going back strongly into the distance.

Have a look on Room 7’s window to see the master pieces.
